Water channel improvement on Jalan Hang Lekir II, RT 09/06, Gunung Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta has reached 60 percent.
Anticipate inundation
Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Water Resource Implementer Unit Head, Sutopo, said the channel improvement is run along 23 meter by installing 60x60 cm u-ditch.
"The work involves nine personnel of Blue Taskforce and one excavator," he said, Monday (10/14).
West Jakarta Administration Intensifies Water Channel CleaningSutopo added the channel improvement has been starting since October 9 and is targeted to complete next week.
"Hopefully the channel will be able to anticipate inundation," he added.
Meanwhile, Gunung Urban Village Head, Elvita Rahmadani Rangkuti, stated the channel improvement is the result of her ranks and local residents monitoring to ensure all channel run well.
"We saw the channel here blocked by plastics and leaves. It surely triggers inundation. Then I asked Kebayoran Baru SDA Implementer Unit for improvement," she stated.
Elvita hopes the channel improvement to run well and able to flow the water normally to prevent inundation.
"I appeal local residents and others to maintain the channel cleanliness," she said.
